Glacé • Light Roast
Grown at 2050 masl in Buesaco, Narino, this Geisha from Luis Fernando Benavides reminds us of orange blossom, vanilla, and black tea with hints of bergamot and grapefruit, followed by a long, tea-like finish. This is a coffee that unfolds slowly in the cup and rewards a careful brew.
Why this coffee stands out
This coffee comes from Finca Bellavista in Buesaco, Narino, a region known for its steep terrain and high elevations. At 2050 masl, cooler mountain conditions allow cherries to mature slowly, helping develop clarity and floral complexity.
Luis uses an anaerobic washed process for this Geisha. After a brief oxidation, the coffee is depulped and fermented for 72 hours with natural yeast and beer hops, then dried on raised beds for 15 days. This careful approach enhances its citrus lift and floral character while preserving a tea-like structure in the cup.
Origin Hill Note: Best brewed as filter with a medium-coarse grind and water at 92°c. Let the cup cool slightly to bring out its citrus and vanilla notes more clearly.
